Mission Report

We were actually asked to transport 74 year old Jack this past Saturday and had all the arrangements in place when we got a call around 3:30pm on Friday saying that the facility where we were taking him did not have a bed available. We quickly put a hold on everything and by the looks of our own schedule we would not be available again until the following Saturday.
Worried that he may be forced to go by ground transport we began to pray for God’s perfect timing and that not only would a bed be available but, that we would be able to arrange our schedule as well. As always, God is good and we were contacted on Monday that the facility would have a bed on Tuesday. Although we would be flying back from Phoenix on that day we promised we would come to Cleveland and pick him up despite the fact that it would be early evening.

Originally from Peru, Indiana, Jack had gone for outpatient elbow surgery and after going home that evening had some complications. His wife Katherine had called 911 and he was taken to the local emergency room. Unfortunately his complications were much more complex than what the small ER could handle and so they were sent to Cleveland.

He currently has a tracheostomy and is on a ventilator to help him breathe. They have been there for several months and their children have been taking turns coming to stay with Katherine as she has been shuffled around from hotel to hotel. She is ready to get him closer to home.
