As some of you may remember mission 494 back on 8/17/17 we had the pleasure of transporting 66 year old Sister Pat. While she was in St. Louis she had surgery on her lower back.
Now just 3 weeks later we have the pleasure of returning her to her convent. It is a wonderful cool crisp morning as we board Nellie to head to St. Louis. We are excited to see Sister Pat again.
Our flight is short. Sister Pat is as happy to see us as we are to see her. We can tell that she is not feeling well. We gently place her on board Nellie after Hal prays over her.
As we chatted during her short flight she apologized for not being the life of the party this time. I asked when the last time was that she wore her habit and she replied quite some time ago. She shared with us about the time she spent in Rome back in the 80’s.
She went there in pursuit of an interesting study. While wearing her habit she wanted to see how many took advantage of their attire to get special privileges such as being placed to the front of a line. She said, ” I never want to be that person, in fact if anything we should be the last in a line.”
Despite our short flight we enjoyed our time together. We arrived back in Indy and once again very gently placed her into the ambulance.
We were blessed to be joined by Gina, Brad and Cody on the tarmac as we all laid hands on Sister Pat and prayed that her surgery will be successful in allowing her to have both feeling and movement back to her legs. After our prayer in true Sister Pat fashion she said, “Go God !! ”
Please continue to lift Sister Pat up in your prayer time and specifically for the work that she does through her ministry along with her entire convent. ( Or the Nunery as she so endearingly called it. )
MARK 9:35
SITTING DOWN, JESUS CALLED THE TWELVE AND SAID,
“ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE FIRST MUST BE THE VERY LAST,
AND THE SERVANT OF ALL.”
Thank you to Hal and Jason for sharing this mission with me.
Many blessings,
