Mission Report

Today we are picking up 59 year old Jesse he had a stroke over a year ago that affected his right side along with his speech. He is able to give “yes” and “no” answers and still has good use only of his left arm. He is going to Arizona where he will be closer to his sister and her family.

As we enter his room he immediately smiles and his face is radiating with excitement. He is all dressed in his comfy pajamas and anxious to get going. Many of the staff are coming in to bid him farewell as he has been with them for quite sometime. They have been kind enough to pack a sack lunch for him to eat during our flight. He has several bags with his belongings and as we placed him onto our cot his phone rang. One last call before he leaves.

His sister had asked us to take pictures of him with the crew since we would not be able to meet her so once we arrived at the plane I did just that and sent it to her.

Jesse seemed to really enjoy the flight. He had us turn him toward the window and raise his head so that he could look out. He only rested for a short time otherwise he wanted to watch the clouds pass by.

He ate his lunch and also had some snacks we had for him. We stopped once for a refuel, our entire flight was very smooth.

We asked him what kind of music he would like to listen to waiting on his approval as we gave him options of country, christian, 70’s, 60’s, 50’s…….STOP…. that’s it ….the 50’s. So we honored his wishes and he thoroughly loved it.
