Mission Report
Today we are transporting Catherine from Lafayette to Orlando. Catherine and her husband have lived here in Lafayette where they raised both of their sons. They have been married 50+ years. One son still lives here but their other son Mike and his wife Ann were transferred to Orlando a few years ago.
Mike and Ann want to take them down to Orlando to be closer to them. This will allow them to oversee her care and to help their father with his needs as well. Mike told me that his mom enjoys watching sports of all kinds and recently began following the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey team.

Catherine has had some health issues over the last several years but was still able to be at home with her husband as he helped to care for her. She recently fell at home and required surgery along with hospitalization and she has since declined even more.
Her daughter-in-law has made the trip up to Lafayette in order to make arrangements to take the two of them back to Florida. In her current condition it is best for Catherine to be flown down. Ann and her father will drive her father-in-law back to Orlando. They left early this morning for their drive.

We arrived to pick up Catherine and she was ready to go. After our ride back to the airport Hal prayed over her and we headed for Orlando. Catherine did well on the flight never complaining of any pain.
Once we landed we could tell she was quite exhausted as she slept enroute to what would be her new home away from home. As we arrived we were greeted by her son Mike who was waiting just inside the door. He asked how she did on the flight and shared with me that she had never flown before. He was very happy to see her.

The staff also greeted us warmly and helped to make her comfortable in her new bed. Once we gave report Mike and the some of the staff joined as we prayed for Catherine and her new caregivers. Mike also thanked us for getting his mom there safely telling us how much it meant to him. He also said his father will be arriving back home later tonight with Ann and he is looking forward to having him there as well. We said our goodbyes and headed back to Nellie for a beautiful night flight home.

PSALM 37:2324 THE LORD MAKES FIRM THE STEPS OF THE ONE WHO DELIGHTS IN HIM; THOUGH HE MAY STUMBLE, HE WILL NOT FALL, FOR THE LORD UPHOLDS HIM WITH HIS HAND.

Thank you to Hal, JR and Carla for sharing this mission with me today.

Many blessings and may the God of grace and peace be with you.
