Mission Report
July 24 dawned bright. The three flyers (Hal Blank, Pilot; Matt Guy, Chief Nurse /Paramedic; John Hannigan, Respiratory Therapist) joined Chelsea Engle and Mike Ford (our ground team) in a brief circle of pre-flight prayer.
There were a cotton-ball tapestry of scattered clouds over Indianapolis as we made our way to Select Specialty Hospital located in the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.
We met Mr. Glenn C. in his room. He had suffered a stroke and was admitted to Select May 30th. His son, Glenn Jr., and cousin were there, his daughter having driven to Texas already.
Hal’s prayer for traveling mercies and a hedge of protection was almost drowned out on the Detroit Metro Airport tarmac, but God heard and delivered us safely, through a speedy refueling stop in Tulsa, to Austin, TX.
Austin gave us a warm sunny welcome. We gave report to the Cornerstone Hospital crew and prayed again that God would continue to heal Glenn and bless the caregivers, as well as the family who gather to support his recovery.
We thank every member of the support team, especially those who pull on the 400 Ropes team. Your sustaining gifts, the contributions of each volunteer, together with our staff, allows patients like Mr. C to be served in Christ’s name and to His glory.
