Mission 234 Mission 233 | View All Mission Reports | Mission 235 Departure: Arrival: Date: Mission Report Gayle F is a 64 years old and from Columbus Indiana. She was diagnosed with liver cancer in January of this year. We flew her out to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for a second opinion on her condition. Initially when she was diagnosed this year, the doctors told her due to the location and size of the tumor and the fact it had already spread, she wasn’t expected to live more than one month. She proved them wrong and was still doing well at home so she wanted to see what the specialists at Mayo said. Gayle said after her shock of the initial diagnosis, she and her family are making the most of every day. In a strange way, it is a blessing to them to cherish each moment together. Gayle and her son also are grateful that her husband/father began going back to church after 40+ years. She said that despite what she is going through, to see her family grow in their faith makes it all worth it. I could see and hear the disappointment that there was no “miracle cure” they had to offer, but they found out the cancer was slower growing that originally thought and gave her doctors advice on the chemotherapy. We always play Christian music during flights and there is a verse in the song “Carry Me” by Josh Wilson: Jesus calm my heart What a perfect prayer for Gayle and her family. I know our God is a big God and He can provide the miracles she needs. Tam
