2nd Plane for Grace On Wings Service
October 29 , 2011

As we celebrated our 4th anniversary in our mission to “show Christ’s love through aviation”, we were blessed to be able to not only rededicate Nellie but recognize our newest member to our fleet, “Riley.”

She was graciously given to us by a dissolving mission from New York, “Able to Aviation”. Their mission was to show disabled children the joy of flying and actually teach them how to be young pilots. When the company lost their funding, they were required to donate the aircraft to another nonprofit agency.

The director and owner, Wayne Kaler , remembered seeing Nellie fly in to help get a little girl on a vent to her new home in Indiana. He contacted Hal Blank, Grace on Wings CEO, and Hal knew that God had brought us a new way to serve. We can now fly patients who need to go shorter distances that are ambulatory and do not need medical monitoring. (so-called Angel Flights) The only request from the agency was to name the plane after his grandfather and famous test pilot for Lockeed Martin, James Riley.

Riley is a Cessna 177 Cardinal and during her recent maintenance inspection, was described as a wellmaintained aircraft. If you or someone you know is in need of a medically necessary flight within 150 miles, please fill out flight request form on our website or call 1-877-75-GRACE.

North American Christian Conference in Cincinnati
Posted: July 7 , 2011

Grace on Wings recently attended at the North American Christian Conference in Cincinnati last week on July 5th, 6th and 7th.

We had a great turn out at the world's fastest growing conference!

Our visitors had a chance to see "Max" our display model and "Stumpy" our tip tank. We also had a new "Nellie" model that was graciously donated by Factory Direct Models.

We wore our flight suits to show our full spirit and I even was asked if I was an astronaut! We had a great time sharing our mission with other fellow believers.

Thanks to awesome help by Matt Guy EMT-P/RN and Hal!

3rd Annual Grace on Wings Dinner Gala
December 13, 2010

On Friday, February 25, 2011, Grace on Wings held its third annual dinner gala at the University of Indianapolis in the Schwitzer Center Banquet Hall.

The evening consisted of a delicious dinner, music by Ben & Betsy James, and guest speaker Anne Ryder; writer, TV journalist and inspirational speaker.

The dinner gala’s mission is to celebrate our continuing opportunities to serve others and to raise funds. Join us and learn more about our 400 ropes club in which members pledge $25 or more monthly.

These funds cover our ground expense so we may show Christ’s love to families in need. Like the Bible story where the crippled man’s friends lowered him down on ropes in front of Jesus -- we need you to be the ropes. (Luke 5:18—26)

You are the friends that help the helpless; you are the ropes that bring hope. It is through your donations and God's grace that we take flight.

Critical Care Certification

(Friday, August 7, 2009)

On July 17th, Grace on Wings was approved by the State of Indiana EMS Commission to now do critical care ALS (Advanced Life Support) patient transports. This means we can now do patients needing ventilator support and invasive monitoring.

The road to becoming critically care certified has been long and there have been huge "God sightings" along the way. We have been blessed to have almost 20 critically care certified nurses and medics and respiratory therapists come along side to volunteer. We received a grant from North Central Health Services for a much needed high quality portable monitor/defibrillator. PMI medical equipment company has graciously donated a ventilator. Hendricks Regional Health has agreed to donate and re-supply any medications we need. KATZ has agreed to supply the disposable equipment needs and St. Vincent Frankfort has come along side us to be our "sponsoring hospital in charge of quality review and education. Wow - how God equips us when what He wants accomplished is taken on by His followers.
